New Zealand's immigration system is hard to navigate, and migrants are particularly vulnerable to getting ripped off by unlicensed operators. Visa Pilot is a guide to NZ immigration: people can check their eligibility, explore the visa pathways that fit their situation, and then get matched with the right support — a licensed adviser, an immigration lawyer, or the confidence to do it themselves. It grew out of an earlier licensed-adviser directory and now covers the whole journey from first question to making contact.

Challenges & Learnings
Turning a sprawling, frequently-changing immigration system into clear eligibility checks and pathways is the core challenge — rules shift, and the content has to stay accurate and trustworthy without constant manual work. The audience is often unfamiliar with New Zealand systems, so the UI needed to be straightforward and clearly trustworthy while guiding people to the right kind of help.
