Challenges & Learnings
The hard part was building something law firms would add to their stack rather than replace it with. Firms are deeply committed to their practice management systems, so Hivelight needed to deliver value on top of Clio and Smokeball without asking anyone to change how they work. The integrations were technically messy. Getting partners, associates, and operations managers to each see what they need in one interface took a lot of time with real law firm teams.
